Butter Lane Cupcake Class
Remember how obsessed I am with Butter Lane? Well about 8 months ago, Groupon had a deal for a Butter Lane cupcake class! Obviously I was all over it, and convinced my friends Ashely, Heidi and Aaron to buy it as well…which wasn’t very hard. Apparently, everyone else in NYC loves Butter Lane as much as we do, so we weren’t able to find an open class until now.
Totally worth the wait.We went on Wednesday night and had the best time ever! The night started with a plate full of cupcakes for us to try. The sea salted chocolate and the lime were amazing. Then we split up into groups and made all three flavors of cupcake, Chocolate, Banana and Vanilla. The 4 of us made vanilla cake and vanilla frosting. Besides loosing a battle with the vanilla bean, I think ours turned out pretty well!
We also learned how to frost the cupcakes with a spatula – turning the cupcake and patting on the frosting. I was really struggling …my cupcakes looked a little messy. At the end of the night, everyone in the class went home with a box full of cupcakes, and a stomach ache from a chocolate peanut butter frosting overdose….or maybe that was just me.
